Welcome Back - Fall 2005!
We're excited and getting ready for the new school year at PS8. Especially nice is the progress being made in the PS8 community...
The third edition of New York City's Best Public Elementary Schools, Parent's Guide by Clara Hemphill is now in local bookstores and on page 161 you'll find a full page about PS 8. It is an honor among peers to be recognized in this Guide, (the "Zagat" equivalent for public schools), and we congratulate Seth Philips and Olivia Ellis for accomplishing so much in only three years.
Also, read this recent Daily News article citing the Hemphill book where PS 8 is mentioned as one of "several excellent public elementary schools" worthy of consideration by Mayoral hopeful, Gifford Miller, who has not decided whether or not he'll be sending his children, ages 2 and 4, to the City's public schools.
September 8th marks the First Day of school. When Open Houses start later in the fall, plan to take a tour to find out about new programs and to meet the new teachers.
