A string quartet from Brooklyn's own BargeMusic treated P.S. 8 students to the works of Beethoven and Bach during a live performance in the school auditorium on Friday, Jan. 12.

One of the violinists, Mark Peskanov, who is also BargeMusic's director and president, left the stage during his solo, running up and down the aisles to the children's delight. Also performing: Yosuke Kawasaki on violin, Maurycy Banaszek on viola and Edward Arron on cello.

BargeMusic holds four weekly performances year-round at the Fulton Ferry Landing near the Brooklyn Bridge. P.S. 8 students and their families are invited to a free concert there on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1pm. Visit bargemusic.org for more information.
