Puppetry Program - March 2007

P.S. 8 first graders recently completed their puppetry program with Marquis Studios. Before building their puppets, the students sketched portraits on paper. Then, starting with cardboard cones standing about 8 in. to 10 in. high, students added felt for clothes, popsicle sticks for arms, pipe cleaner hands and yarn for hair. To create the puppets' heads, the kids used Model Magic, a clay made by Crayola that dries overnight and then can be painted.
