The 2007 PS8 PTA Potluck Dinner
The annual PTA Potluck Dinner will be held at PS8 on December 18th at 6pm.
All members of the PS8 community are welcome, from students and staff to parents and guardians.
This night is all about getting to know one another and having fun. Last year's 'international cuisine' theme proved so popular that we decided to stick with it for this year. So please bring along your favorite appetizer, entrée or dessert, and help us create a diverse and delicious spread.
If you're bringing a dish, please sign-up on a posted sheet outside classroom doors and in the parent room or by e-mail. If you are unable to bring a dish, there is certainly plenty of other ways to contribute. Contact the Hospitality Committee to find out where they need assistance. Rebecca and Elisa are Co-Chairs of the PTA Hospitality Committee which organizes PTA events. They would love to hear from you and would be delighted to answer your questions.
Given that on this night the focus is on eating and socializing, the PTA meeting will be brief, focusing primarily on the President's and Treasurers' reports. The next 'Conversation With The Principal' will be held in 2008, at first General PTA meeting of the year on January 28th.
Following the PTA meeting, dinner will be served in the school cafeteria. All dishes should be taken to the cafeteria before the PTA meeting.
Following dinner, there will be entertainment in the auditorium by the PS8 Parent's Band. Dessert and coffee will be served, the latter provided with thanks by Busy Chef, located at the junction of Henry Street and Cranberry Street.
Children are welcome throughout the evening but please note that there will be NO childcare service during the PTA meeting. It is asked that parents supervise their children at all times during the evening's festivities.
Toward the end of the evening, there will be a raffle. We'll provide more information on how you can buy tickets in advance and prizes as it becomes available! Of course, tickets will be on sale at the dinner.
