The Box Tops for Education Campaign has Begun!
Quick, what do eating your cereal, having a cold and taking out the trash all have in common? Answer: they can all raise money for PS 8. How? Turn over that box of Cheerios, Kleenex or Hefty garbage bags, clip the Box Top for Education coupon then drop it off in the Parent Room at school and PS 8 will get 10 cents for every one we collect. While 10 cents may not sound like much, Box Tops for Education has more than 200 participating products. PS 8 has nearly 500 students ready to participate, so it will add up quickly.
The fundraising committee has launched an enthusiastic Box Tops for Education drive, setting $500 as our goal. Stop by the bulletin board outside the Parent Room for more information. You can also find a complete list of products at Box Top for Education's web site, www.boxtopsforeducation.com. You can even print out directions on how to make your own collection box.
Kids can enlist family, friends and neighbors to help out or just head down to the recycling room and start clipping. Once you have collected a bunch of coupons, just bring them to the Parent Room at PS 8. There is a Box Tops container there for depositing your saved Box Tops and we'll take it from there.
In addition, during the week of January 28 through February 3, any purchases made through the Box Tops for Education website from a number of on-line retailers will earn extra cash for PS 8. You can find a complete list of participating retailers at the Marketplace window at www.boxtopsforeducation.com. Each of the listed stores has pledged their own percentage; you will see when you visit the site that some are substantial.
Box Tops for Education is a fun and easy way to help our school bring in money that we can use to buy books or help teachers properly equip their classrooms. Let everyone know about our $500 goal for this year and keep an eye out for these coupons. But please be careful when you clip them. Each one must have all its information in tact in order to be valid for submission. Happy clipping!
