PS 8 Third Graders in the NY Times

A group of third graders in Melissa Browning's class were featured in an article in Monday's New York Times' Arts section. They had attended a performance of the Kevin Locke Native dance Ensemble on Saturday. Melissa organized the class trip for the students and their parents as a tie in to the Native American studies they have begun in class recently.

The kids and their parents completely enjoyed the show. After the performance, Kevin invited members of the audience up on stage to learn about the amazing hoop dancing that was the highlight of the show. We were unaware that a Times photographer was in the audience taking pictures for a review of the performance.
