IT'S FREE!...IT'S EASY!...And It May Become Addictive! What Is It???????

It's Boxtops and you can find these on many of the products in your own home (see the attached list). Starting Wednesday, May 21st through Wednesday, June 11th, we are launching the Blastoff for Box tops competition. The class who collects the most Boxtops will win a Popsicle party and thirty minutes of recess time!!!

The collection box for the box tops will be placed in front of the Blastoff for Box tops bulletin board located in the main lobby. Be sure to put your box tops in an envelope marked with your name, grade and teacher's name so that your class can get credit. Each week we will tally the results and post them on the bulletin board.

For every Boxtop you collect, you will help earn 10¢ for our school. While that may not sound like a lot, just imagine if we can get at least 10 box tops from each child in our school! Of course don't limit yourself to just your own household -- ask your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Even better, find out when the recyclables are collected in your building and you may be surprised at how many more you will be able to collect in a very short time.

For those of you short on time (who isn't???) remember that many of your on-line purchases can also earn money for the school. Here's how:

  1. go to www.boxtops4education.com
  2. Look in the upper right hand corner where it says "sign-up now"
  3. You will be asked to locate your school. Enter the school's zip code -- 11201. Then look for Public School 8 -- Robert Fulton -- Brooklyn. Be careful because there is another Public School 8 listed but in Jersey City.
  4. You will then be asked to enter your contact information.
  5. Once you have registered, look at the top of the page for marketplace. This is where you will find a full list of participating retailers.

REMEMBER, in order for PS8 to receive a percent of your purchases you must always go through this website to get to the retailer's website and make your purchase. Some noteworthy retailers include Southwest airlines, Old Navy, Gap, Barnes & Noble, drugstore.com, Kodak Easy Share Gallery, Kohl's, Lands' End, Pottery Barn, etc.

Please help us to get the kids excited about this. This is an easy way for them (and you!) to help raise money for our school.

Thanks!
