A Loss In The PS8 Community
Members of the PS8 community were very sad to learn that Special Education teacher Carol Parness passed away suddenly on August 26, 2008 after a long illness. Carol headed up "pull out" special education services at PS8 and was very involved in the lives of many students. In an informal memorial service for PS8 staff, Principal Phillips and the faculty have dedicated their school work this year to Carol Parness in honor of her hard work and devotion to the children of PS8.
A fund has been established in Carol Parness' name to support all early childhood programming at the Reform Temple of Forest Hills.
