Box Tops for Education Drive Update
This month the Box Tops for Education program at PS8 headed up by Parents Madeline Schwartzman and Collette Fauche-Sandler yielded 4,449 box tops which equals $444.90 for PS8 this month and a total of $707.27 for the year.
The winner:
- Ms. Forrest's class (1-207) with 726 box tops.
Runners up were:
- Ms. Barretta's class (K-109): 589 box tops
- Ms. Scorza and Ciappetta's class (K-102): 510 box tops
- Ms. Davis' class (K-101): 500 box tops
Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to every participant. Please don't forget the Box Tops Program during the holiday season.
At the Box Tops for Education Marketplace, you can shop online at over 70 favorite stores like Target, Lands' End, Wal-Mart, Old Navy, Gap, Circuit City, JCPenney, Pottery Barn and many more (see the list here). Whenever you make a purchase, a percentage of the total is automatically donated to the school at no extra cost to you.
- Go to www.boxtops4education.com
- Look in the upper right hand corner where it says "sign-up now"
- You will be asked to locate your school. Enter the school's zip code --
11201. Then look for Public School 8 -- Robert Fulton -- Brooklyn. Be
careful because there is another PS 8 listed but in Jersey City.
- You will then be asked to enter your contact information.
Once you have registered, look at the top of the page for marketplace. This is where you will find a full list of participating retailers.
REMEMBER, in order for PS8 to receive a percent of your purchases you must always go through this website to get to the retailer's website and make your purchase.
And this year there is new incentive, the Box Tops Reading Room. Box Tops for Education and Barnes and Noble.com have teamed up to bring you a new way to earn cash for PS8 just in time for the Readathon.
Its easy and here is how:
- Log on to www.btfe.com/readingroom to begin your online shopping.
- Click on the "Shop now" button to transfer to Barnes and Noble.com.
- Select your items and follow the standard checkout process.
- PS8 will automatically be credited up to 6 percent of your purchase (new books, magazines, text books and 3 percent for other books including gift cards and gift certificates)! Do your holiday shopping!
