This year's PaddleWheeler was held on Saturday, April 8, 2006 and brought together entertainment and talent from all corners of the community.

Paul O. Zelinsky, Caldecott-winning author/illustrator, gave a live demonstration of his imaginative illustration technigues. Here are the drawings he produced during his presentation:

Some of the drawings were audience suggestions... Below are pictures showing how the character of Rumpelstiltskin evolved. The man on the right has a sort of look to stay away from. On the left was a better possibility: Here on the right is Rumpelstiltskin with his final nose and hat: The snake was an audience request; Sonny Shivers is the hero of Zelinsky's upcoming picture book...
